OBSBOT Tiny 2 Lite Production with a Laptop - Ray Hayden, J.D.
paypal.me/rayhaydenVDO1
Ray Hayden here, going over how I use the OBSBOT Tiny 2 Lite PTZ USB-C camera in a Video Production Package and how to take it from Studio to being portable due to the laptop using USB-C power input, and have sufficient battery power.
If I am shooting remotely where there is plug in power available, I can use that as well, but for a one man band video producer, this little camera is an incredible tool to use for creating high quality video recordings in a effective and efficient work flow to be able to get our videos created, edited, and uploaded quickly.
The two features that blow me away are the "AI Tracking," and the hand gestures to zoom in and out. Being able to stop AI Tracking with a simple hand gesture is incredible, and it really opens up time saving opportunities for me in the field - and in the studio!
Drop me a note if you have any questions about this setup, or other ways I set it up as well - I also use the front facing camera on my smartphone for a lot of video work, as well as an Action Camera for high quality video recording in 4K.

Kitchen Sink Faucet Procedure - Ray Hayden, J.D.

paypal.me/rayhaydenVDO1 Ray Hayden here, I replaced our kitchen faucet, This one has a pull down sprayer, so I also use a "blank" to secure the hole that the old faucet used. Thanks for watching! Cutting it down with water really helps. For losing weight, I am working up a video on my diet. I was not specifically trying to lose weight, but I knew it would happen - because I had this same diet a number of years back (and then, to lose weight). I am now working to keep blood sugar (A1c) in check, and to NOT develop issues which would be related to high A1c numbers. This diet is not difficult to do, which is key to being able to do it for longer periods. Members of my family who had been placed on diabetes medications typically gained weight, and could never stop using the lifelong medications... I refuse to go that route (people should check with their doctors, of course), but my personal decision is to never use life altering medications because I do not trust them, and the side effects are unacceptable to me personally. Exercise is something I am focused on now, to strengthen muscle tone, and I will likely include that discussion in the video I am working on... it is going to be a bit, I need to prepare this one a bit more than my usual videos.

      I just got done watching a buddies video on removing, cleaning, repairing, and painting the deck under a Cadet Cub... and he is lifting up the deck by hand... totally... now, it might not be the hefty 72 inch thing here... but he impressed me and made me look lazy! The car ramps and other techniques are solid... I simply don't have that... I guess I could use the tractor to lift the mower... I have had to pretty much lift most of it up to pull it out of the mud a few times! Thanks for watching and for the ideas! Greatly appreciated!

    I am using flat right now to cover eggshell paint (neutral colors, not white) that was just applied in two rooms. This 30 year old home has too many imperfections for eggshell's reflective qualities. Not only does it show every imperfection, but it shows lap marks. It is crazy difficult to apply a solid uninterrupted finish on a wall with eggshell without it being marred with roller marks. Flat is so much cleaner looking.

    • @rayhayden
      @rayhayden 7 днів тому

      I completely agree. That wall was new construction, and they really build for profit, more than quality. I also love the soft bounce of the light off of the flat (matte) paint. I had always been told that the higher the shine, the more scrubbable the paint. This might be true to some extent, but I assure you, with the 19 cats we had in the house at the time? Matte, or flat, paint, was quite scrubbable!

      Yes, the OBSBOT Cameras with Gimbals can follow us very well. Specifically, I used the Tiny 2 Lite camera, and the ability to do what it does won me over. The computer I recorded it to, a laptop, had an Intel N95 Processor, like a Celeron! Sure a newer one, but not the Gaming Laptop I have.... and the laptop recorded an excellent video! I was trying to make a video actually in my kitchen, and specifically, if we had it positioned to be able to move to different places on our counter (your videos are great for showing everything), then I think cooking, and demonstration of items - and any number of presentation videos would be perfect for this camera.

    I have a 42" toro and I do not have that piece to attach the jack mount. How can i get and use a jack like that

    • @rayhayden
      @rayhayden 12 днів тому

      Google "Toro Jack mount kit," and you should then sort by Images. There are a number of them, so it depends on the version of the mower you have. Mine is a ZMaster 3000, with a 72" deck... but the deck should not have much to do with it... while close (by the nature of a zero turn mower), it is nowhere near the jack attachment. You might need to grab your serial number and check that with a dealer. When I purchased this in 2018, my dealer told me that the price of the mount is not an inexpensive item, but to save some money on that, I should buy the bulldog lift at Tractor Supply, which I did.

    • @rayhayden
      @rayhayden Місяць тому

      Unfortunately, we no longer have that mower - we moved up to a 72" deck, so I don't have the specifics on that one... I do recall that it was a 60" deck, but I do not know the number of the belt to acquire a new one. HOWEVER, I believe the model / serial number of your mower on the manufacturers (or maybe dealer) website, can ascertain that information... I recall, a while back, I had to look something up on the 72" one, and I found what I needed there.

    ummm, would you spray the underneath of your car or truck with salt water? Your fence is made of steel, you are destroying your fence wire, no?

    • @rayhayden
      @rayhayden Місяць тому

      It is funny that you mention that! I have yet to see any of our fencing being rusty! You'd think that it ought to rust... but it is not. What HAD rusted over the years is the Barbed Wire... THAT rusted good - but LONG before I ever sprayed the weeds on the fences. Another note, those fences are GONE. I was trying to get the weeds reduced - if not eliminated - so that I could pull the posts and get rid of the fencing. NOW - Between PROPERY LINES - I leave the fences - unless fallen trees and such destroyed the fences - which has also happened in the back areas... the POSTS, well, SOME of the posts are still there, especially the huge corner ones... they will remain (the corner ones) the rest will be replaced - but I will not put fencing on those... If the fence is destroyed, I will remove what I can find... but the posts will be replaced. We have wildlife that crosses through, and I want that wildlife to have safe passage through the property without getting harmed by partially destroyed metal fencing. But yes, it is interesting that NONE of the fencing I had ever removed so far... none of it, had any rust at all... just the barbed wire.

    • @rjiggy07
      @rjiggy07 Місяць тому

      @@rayhayden It really depends on the quality of the fence in as much as how much if any zinc coating is on the steel. Even with the zinc, which is a sacrificial metal, it will oxidize and let the sodium do it's work on the steel. It does take time though. I've often thought that used water softener wash water would be the ticket. It'd be a good way to repurpose a waste product. But sodium is a serious oxidizer, just ask anyone that salted their newly poured driveway the following winter!! Electrons are natures magic. Oh, and never trust atoms, they make up everything! lol...

      I have not had to yet, but I suppose we could. More often than not? I do such work with them that I tend to kill them. The way I deal with all of this is - "Did the tool / item provide me with a positive financial gain?" So far, every piece of equipment, and every tool that I have destroyed with the work I demanded of it? Has done so very well. I will often use things, probably, NOT as intended. I am positive that these chain saws had never been intended to do the hellish work I have put them through!

      Hilarious! No, it comes close, the last internal fan slot tilts down, and gave me a little concern, but it fits. Considering that the motherboard must be at a certain level by design of the screw lifts on the bottom, and the mother board is only so high, it is a tight fit. If I need to do anything with the motherboard, I have to remove that huge power supply I have in there. I did change out the graphics card, but I am not certain now that the one I had was a problem... but I was happy that I grabbed the card I did, it did not exist when I built the computer, and no one is going to be making them in the near future either. I think it should probably fit. I do have room to the side of the graphics card.

    • @rayhayden
      @rayhayden Місяць тому

      I did not! I have to think about why I did not, but it probably had something to do with not having a tripod, or way to steady the camera. Looking at the video, all those fences have been removed a while ago, and the silver car was traded in for a 4 wheel drive pick up truck... this means that I was doing "pre" move in work, and we had just purchased this house. I do recall that I kind of got lucky in getting the belt on properly, and that it was a real pain to do... I also did not have that mower much longer... it did tons of work, but it was old (came with the house) and I pretty much killed it... we purchased a new 72" deck Zero Turn ZMaster 3000 mower, and then I removed all of the inner fences around the property, and the fencing along the roads... fences on property borders with other properties remain where some tree or such has not torn them down yet. I can only think that my NOT showing the actual procedure was that I did not have a tripod with me at the time. The DESCRIPTION of the process is correct though. The tension is where that spring is on that mower, and we just need to be safety conscious when pulling off the tension to get the belt on... again, mine went on, and I was lucky.

      I understand, I made another video about another set, because they had been different than these. Some things really ought to have a universal standard to them. Check out this other video and see if it is at all helpful. ua-cam.com/video/Y4fDbk2sITg/v-deo.html

    How many cats do you have?

    • @rayhayden
      @rayhayden Місяць тому

      Currently, we have 11 cats, and Chirp (a flightless parakeet we rescued back in 2017 or so). We have had "19 cats, and Pablo." At the time, someone else owned Pablo, but he ended up staying with use for an extended period of time. When his owner got home, he went home with her. After we had moved up here, she reached out to us and asked if we would be interested in adopting Pablo. We had been, so I drove back south and picked up Pablo, and now he is with us forever. Note, we rescued all of our cats, and Chirp. Some walked up to our home, others had been either rescued from folks who moved away without their cat(s), and others had been "inherited" due to a family member passing away. Over the years, we lost a number of them through natural cause (old age), and we actually acquired three of our current 11 when they walked onto our property, and decided they liked us. At this moment, we have an orange cat, and a black cat, who frequently are around our property, so we leave water on the front porch for them... we cannot feed them because of insects and such outside who would get into the food, and they both look like they are eating somewhere... but when they walk across our porch, they have water, and chairs to sit on if they choose.

    The ballcap mounted GoPro worked well, smooth footage. A big lawn for sure! 👍

      Considering that we had been on a boat, and it was a cell phone video? I'll take that compliment! Thanks for watching, I greatly appreciate it!

    That's a cool capture Ray! The bear appreciated the drink of water. 👍

      Yes it was, we normally get cats coming by - which is why we put the water out there. But this bear was a really great catch, and the bear looked good too... Bonus!

    Can I paint the grout with oil based paint to make it water resistant?

    • @rayhayden
      @rayhayden Місяць тому

      You could, but we do not use oil based paint due to the cleanup and the odor. The latex paint (indoor or outdoor paint type) tends to wipe right off, and the clean up is very easy. If water is an issue - or if the grout is in an area that will have sitting water (bathroom, kitchen, etc.) then I would probably use a "block sealer" with a thin coat, and then use a semigloss latex paint over that. To me the issue is to make sure I can clean it up. Grout is, by default, lower than the tile around it, thus, even a very clean floor, cleaned every single day, will collect some dirt or stain in the grout line... it is going to happen... so we redo the floors as need be. Some traffic areas are used more than others, so need more attention. If you go with oil based paints, I'd test them in a spot first to ensure clean up is not too difficult. The primer I use now is Kilz 3 (from Kilz 2) - it is a water based product that can be used practically anywhere as the base coat, and then just about any other paint applied over it. Thanks for asking!

    Hey Ray - good tips on keeping the paint lid clean. It drives my crazy to find a used paint can with paint spilled and dried all around the outside of the can.

    Good review Ray. Some of these brands seem to falsely advertise their products. The audio was pretty good, not too much wind noise and the video looked good on an average monitor. 👍

    Thanks Ray . I thought this cam looked and sounded ok . I just went through a bunch of action cam comparison videos choosing a budget alternative / replacement . Ended up with a Akaso V50 , I think . My #1 complaint was that every cam out there was trying to be all things to all people . They're packed with great features ...that most don't need or will ever use . I'd sure like to see some better options , Like small form cams dedicated to specific types of use , filming and intended viewing .

    Thanks Ray . I've long questioned some of these companies quality claims when it comes to video resolution . And not just the manufacturers but also video providers .
